The Coffee Break Membership
I have been considering some form of membership option for quite some time. As a landscape photographer who already creates a fair amount of content on YouTube, I struggled with what extra value I could provide in a Member Access-only area. With some recent discussions with some fellow creators, I found myself switching my approach towards a Member Access area (what I call The Coffee Break).
The first shift in thinking was that I HAD to provide a lot of extra content in a member-only area. Instead, the membership is a way for people who enjoy my YouTube content, my newsletters, my webinars, and such to be able to show their support via The Coffee Break Membership. I know there are happy followers who find value in my content creation and would be happy to help support those endeavors. If you find yourself in that category, then you are the perfect candidate for The Coffee Break Membership. If you find value in my content publicly released, this is a way to help support that content.
The next shift was the idea of treating content in the Member Access area more akin to ‘DVD Extras’ - the literal description used in the conversation with fellow creators. This was the bonus material on a DVD that showed behind-the-scenes thought processes on certain scenes, still images from the movie, storyboards, and more.
This type of content content felt more doable. I already collect a lot of video in the field and if some of the extra footage could be less edited and a little less polished, then I could use it in a Member Access area. It also lets me talk or write about more than directly landscape photography-related things, but also about the business of landscape photography and also about landscape photography adjacent topics - camping, travel, planning, coffee, the 4Runner, and more.

You are probably thinking that seems an unusual name for a membership. Well, anyone who has watched my YouTube channel long enough knows I put great effort into ensuring I have my post-sunrise coffee, whether it be making coffee out the back of the 4Runner or flying across the country with a plan to make coffee in the middle of nowhere. Coffee is one of my things, and it seemed a fun name!

To kick-off the Coffee Break membership site I am offering it at a discounted price. In the future the price will go up to $10 per month. If you sign-up at the promo price you are locked in with the discounted monthly price until you cancel your subscription.

First and foremost your monthly subscription fee will support the content I already create on YouTube and via my email newsletters. That content isn’t changing and will remain free, regardless of the success of the Coffee Break Membership. Inside the member area I do have three main areas (growing every month).

This is a collection of free downloads I have released over the years all gathered in one place for easy access. These include short one-page guides and recorded webinars.
Videos
These will be exclusive videos, often short in nature, minimal editing and include snippets from the field and office on a variety of landscape photography and adjacent topics (think camping, travel, coffee, etc).
If you want to see what life as a landscape photographer is like, the goal of these videos is to show a glimpse of that - the good and the bad!

Short blog-like posts on a variety of topics - from landscape photography to the business of landscape photography and the challenges and victories along the way. -
I am big on release early and learn what works well and what doesn’t as you go. Build it while people watch! Early members to Coffee Break will have a chance to influence what is offered with the membership.
Ideas floating around my head as membership grows are discount codes for my physical print products, scheduled members only Q&A sessions, videos released to specific topics members would like to see. -

You can easily cancel your membership from you account page. When you cancel you retain access to the member area until the next billing cycle.
